34 hours per week for 39 weeks per year

Grade 4, Scale Points 7 – 11 (£22,369 to £24,054) pro rata

Actual Salary £17,602 – £18,928 assuming no previous service

All Saints is a successful, oversubscribed, 11-18 Catholic Voluntary Academy within the St Clare CMAT. The last OFSTED inspection in April 2018 judged the school to be Good. As a wholly inclusive school community we share a clear and ambitious vision for high quality education for all.  Staff at all career stages are supported to access innovative and research led CPD and there is a culture of continuous development.

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen in our Library.  We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Library Manager to join our team on a permanent basis.  Our school has a strong and vibrant reading culture.  You will be responsible for providing a stimulating and friendly atmosphere to encourage a love of reading and literacy.

This post will be ideal for an individual with strong organisational skills, a passion for student support and a commitment to promoting a culture of reading for pleasure. You will have a visible presence within the school and will build strong relationships with students, staff and the wider community.

The role offers a varied and fulfilling day including managing and developing our school library alongside promoting the library and its resources to students, staff and parents.

You will work closely with the Literacy Team in co-ordinating and carrying out one-to-one and small group reading interventions as well as delivering timetabled library lessons, for which all training will be provided.

This role offers a chance to work in a supportive and dynamic school environment. A well-managed and thriving library lies at the heart of a secondary school and can make a real difference to the lives of students. All Saints is committed to providing excellence for all our students in a supportive environment; the Library Manager will be a key member of the team working towards this goal.

We are looking for someone who offers:

  • A passion for reading and a confidence to recommend books for young people
  • The desire to motivate and enthuse the whole school community with a love for reading
  • Creativity in promoting the Library as an integral part of our whole school literacy programme
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate good relationships with staff, students and parents
  • The ability to work independently and be pro-active
  • Secure IT skills (knowledge of library systems not essential)

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment.  All successful candidates will be required to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.

We value our diverse workforce and aim to work together to make the most of our differences. We welcome applications from everyone.  Under the Disability Confident Scheme, disabled applicants, who meet the essential criteria of this job, are guaranteed an interview.

A Catholic Education Service application form, supplementary forms and further details are available on the school website: www.allsaints.sheffield.sch.uk/vacancies.  Please return your application form, consent to obtain references form and recruitment monitoring form (optional) to Jo Thorpe, PA to the Headteacher, by email to j.thorpe@allsaints.sheffield.sch.uk or by post to the school address.  Applications on any other form and CVs will not be considered.
