The successful candidate(s) will play a key role in providing a safe environment for our staff and children, and are required to develop strong working relationships with the Premises team, children, staff, parents, local residents, contractors and visitors to school.

This is a varied and exciting opportunity which is incredibly rewarding, you will be expected to have a genuine passion for maintaining the buildings and school site as a safe, secure and clean environment.

The role will include managing the cleaning team and providing practical support throughout their work times; maintaining security of the premises; managing lighting, heating, maintenance and operation of plant; porterage and handy person duties, including painting and decorating and maintenance of furniture and fittings; preparing spaces for meetings as directed, including hospitality and support.

The post holder(s) will be responsible for security of premises (including opening the building in the morning / locking up the building at the end of the day); statutory compliance (e.g. health and safety and fire safety checks); maintenance of equipment; repairs; maintaining a site that is safe, clean and compliant to provide the children and staff with the best possible environment for learning and teaching.

The successful candidate(s) will be conscientious, flexible, energetic and hard working, able to work on your own initiative. Previous experience of working as a school caretaker would be an advantage.
