HEADTEACHER

September 2026

Salary Range – L15-L21

The governors of Emmaus Catholic and Church of England Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Headteacher to lead our community.

Emmaus Catholic and Church of England Primary School is a truly unique joint denominational school, bringing together the traditions of both the Catholic Church and the Church of England. Located in the heart of Sheffield, our school places Christ at the centre of all we do, embracing every child as a unique and precious individual.

We are part of St Clare Catholic Multi Academy Trust, a supportive and ambitious family of schools committed to enabling each school community to shine.

We are proud of our nurturing and inclusive ethos. At Emmaus, we support the whole child — celebrating their efforts, encouraging their aspirations, and developing their God-given potential. We work in strong partnership with families, parish churches, and the wider community, fostering a culture of care, forgiveness, respect, and reconciliation. Our pupils flourish in a vibrant learning environment where they have fun, take pride in their school, and grow in faith, confidence, and character. We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, faith driven, and dedicated Headteacher to lead our school into its next chapter.

This is an exciting and challenging role that requires a passionate, enthusiastic and aspiring leader to be a key part in designing and implementing changes that will enable all of our children to be engaged in their learning and achieve their full potential.

Our Governors, St Clare Trust Board and the Dioceses of Hallam and Sheffield are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and vulnerable adults and the headteacher must ensure that the highest priority is given to following the guidance and regulations to safeguard them.  The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced check for regulated activity from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
